About Dancing On Eire Australia

Dancing on Eire is a small home-based affair located in Perth, Western Australia.

Descended from a long line of tailors and seamstresses, I have been sewing since I was quite small and made my first Christening dress when I was about 12 years old. This was followed up a few years later with a self-designed formal outfit for the Year 12 Ball.

When my daughter started Irish Dancing lessons in 1997 it wasn't long before making these gorgeous hand crafted dresses became a new passion!

Most days of the week I work as a High School Nurse, which has less to do with Band-Aids and head lice and more to do with adolescent Mental Health and students coping with things life throws at them. My way of processing their stories at the end of a long working day is to listen to the rhythmic, soothing sound of satin stitch on the sewing machine. A kind of meditation really!

Ten years after making my first Irish Dancing Dress, I continue to make both ready-to-wear dresses and a number of custom dresses, and I'm usually booked up some months in advance.  Please enjoy the site, and feel free to email any questions to Anita@dancingoneire.com
